I've loved Transformers since I was a kid although I lost that love as I got older. When I heard about the live action movie it brought it all back. I love the animated shows, the toys and can't wait for the movie. Everything I've seen of the movie so far gets me tremendously excited.

Oh gee, now they want fans’ input.. What’s the point..!! They fucked up the first movie what makes you think that even with our the “TRUE” fans’ input they’ll listen to what we have to say..?? It’s too late for that, don’t you think..?? They should have thought about doing that with the first movie, at least that way Michael Bay would not have fucked it up as badly as he did..
Does USATODAY.COM think that “TRUE” transformers fans are really that stupid..?? What’s the point of getting a voting poll together and asking what character you want in the sequel..?? Well, i was thinking getting Megatron in the sequel, but Bay fucked him up so badly that he’s unrecognizable.. I was thinking of having Soundwave in the sequel, but rumble stole his “protoform” in the first movie, so thats out of the question, isn’t it..?? I was also thinking of having the Constructicons in the sequel and forming Devestator, but Devestator was a tank in the first movie, so changing that is out of the question.. I wanted Prawl in the sequel, but some try hard wannabee by the name of Barracade stole his identity..
I would like to see Mirage, Hound, Blaster, Cliffjumper, Thundercracker, Ramjet, Wheeljack and the dinobots make their debut, but after seeing the first movie and the way it was treated and messed up by an inferior director, i don’t even wanna know.. I want Michael Bay to surprise us, like he did with the first one.. Some other transformers of note that i wouldn’t mind seen make their debut whether in the sequel or the ten other sequels after the two upcoming ones are…. Trailbreaker (even though Ironhide stole his identity, with the exception that ironhide was a GMC truck rather then a toyota hilux 4WD like what trailbreaker was in G1), sunstreaker, bluestreak, skyfire, sideswipe, red alert, inferno and smokescreen just to name afew.. However, the ultimate would be, omega supreme, skyfire, metroplex, trypticon and fortress maximus, but thats to much to ask..
They are some of my favourites, but in all honesty i don’t want them in any of the sequels or subsequent pre-equals etc… because i don’t want them fucked up like the first few transformers were in the first movie..
whoops… why ask NOW when you could have asked BEFORE the first movie???

Actually, ignore my previous post on the topic of “wheelie”.. I think that it’ll be a great idea to have him in the sequel, at least Michael bay will make himself useful and do something right for a change..
If that happens here’s some possibilities;
1. Why not get Sam run him over with bumblebee.. Or
2. Get Mikaihla use a circular saw and cut him up into little pieces and feed him to ravage (even though ravage is a decepticon… maybe while being chased with Sam alongside here, she can throw bits and pieces of wheelie in front of ravage to throw him of track..??)
3. Get Optimus Prime to step on him by accident (or maybe it wasn’t an accident) and then go “my bad”
4. Then again, you can always feed him to the Dinobots, since grimlock never liked that little shit to begin with… Or
5. Or have Wheelie and mojo in an ultmate deathmatch as a fitting end to the sequel…??
Wow…i guess i never realized transformer fans were that touchy about the franchise. i thought they did a decent job with the movie. after all the whole story line was based on a cartoon/comic book!? come on for god’s sake, how can anybody be that upset with the movie? let me guess, you were expecting a remake of the transformers “the movie”? the second movie should try and tap into more on the rest of the charcters from the series. and just because megatron was dumped into the depths of the sea, does not mean shockwave could not pull him out of the ocean from cybertron and bring him back…i mean after all megatron was frozen solid for about 100 years based on the movie. the movie story line can take the series just about anywhere…only the really creepy fans will be upset about the story line because they follow it as they would real life…and thats just sad/er creepy:->
Fair enough it’s only a movie based on a 20year old cartoon/comic with boxy characters that lack full 360 degrees movement etc… but as ive been saying all along, why couldn’t Bay use the exo skeletons designed specifically for this movie and future sequels / pre-equals and allow them to transform into their original vehicles, even if that means using “mass shifting” (alas megatron turning into a gun) then so be it.. But at least he could have kept the originality as close to G1 as possible..
To answer your question Todd Tims, i wasn’t expecting a remake of the animated movie from 1987 as such, i was more content with having a live action movie with Optimus Prime as a cab over / megatron as a gun or jazz as a porsche etc…. basically keeping it to the original.. The icing on the cake would have been the autobots crashing their spaceship into the mountain side, that would have been a good beginning to the movie.. But anyaway, you mean to tell me that the exo skeletons for this movie couldn’t be designed to make jazz a porsche or bumblebee a Vw or Optimus a cab over rather then a big rig..?? It’s not so much that it couldn’t be done, its more the fact that Michael Bay didn’t want to do it that way, because after all (as mentioned in my previous posts) he was never a fan of transformers, and he quoted that “I wanted to do it my way”.. And look how it turned out..

What do you mean by that exactly..?? Do you mean another spin off (alas Beast Wars or Cybertron) Because from what ive seen from the movie Michael Bay tried to base it on all the spin offs (to an extent), because the only time Megatron was anything other then a gun was in Machine Wars where he was in fact an F-22 fighter plane.. But if thats the case and Bay indeed tried to base his movie after G1 / G2 / and the animated movie (1987) then he should not have included the Witwicky’s, because they only appeared in G1 and the movie (from memory).. Can’t recall the Witwicky’s in Beast Wars or other one for that matter…. So the whole story line isn’t accurate.. Seriously, i don’t know how the series be taken anywhere, because the movie is all over the place.. It’s confusing.. I seriously do not know what he based it on, because the movie has no platform for a movie, he just slapped a movie together based on the transformers brand..
I don’t know that I’d call it ‘creepy’ but I am on a similar page as you. I loved the cartoons and the movie from ‘84. I also really liked the movie and look forward to wherever it takes the Transformers universe next.
I also liked Beast Wars and pretty much everything else that’s come out from different Transformers universes.
I understand the viewpoint of G1 purists yet I’m more of a see where it takes us kind of guy.
I AM HUGE FAN OF G1 AND ACTUALLY WANTED MY MONEY BACK AFTER WATCHING THIS CRAP MOVIE. THE FIRST HOUR AND A HALF WAS RIDICULOUS. THE BEGINNING WAS GREAT BUT THEN DROPPED OFF. WHY COULDN’T THEY USE THE NAME SPIKE INSTEAD OF SAM. THE CUBE IDEA WAS A JOKE, G1 DID IT BEST. ORIGANALY, THE AUTOBOTS LEFT CYBERTRON IN SEARCH OF ENERGY FOR THEIR PLANET, DECEPTICANS GOT IN THE MIDDLE OF IT, BIG WAR, AND THEY ALL CRASH LANDED ON EARTH IN SEARCH OF ENERGY TO TAKE BACK TO CYBERTRON. WHERE WERE ALL THE AUTOBOTS HIDING IF THEY HAD TO TRAVEL IN SOME COCOON. BY THE WAY I DIDN’T KNOW U COULD SEE THE BAT SIGNAL FROM OUTERSPACE. IF MEGATRON WAS ON ICE FOR SO MANY YEARS, WHAT DID PLAN DID HE SCAN IN ORDER FOR HIM TO TRANSFORM INTO A PLANE. THE CAMERA WORK WAS TO SHAKEY IN THE BEGINING WITH THE CAR CHASE OF BUBLBEE AND BARACADE. WHY DIDN’T THEY USE SOME OF THE ORIGINAL DECEPT. LIKE SOUNDWAVE AND THUNDERCRACKER. IF THAT WAS RUMBLE, I DIDN’T KNOW. WHEN THEY WERE BOMBING THE HELL OUT OF THAT INSECTICON LOOKINGTHING, WHERE WERE THE CRATERS AT FROM ALL OF THE BOMBS THAT WERE DROPED. COULDN’T U RENT A BACKHOE FOR TWO GRAND AND DIG ONE. THE MOTORCYCLE SCEENE WAS ALSO A JOKE, SLIDING ON HIS BACK FOR A HUNDRED FEET WITHOUT A SCRATCH. HOW IS IT THAT HUMANS R BETTER SHOTS THAN MACHINES. THAT DECEPT. IN THE BEGING WAS SO POWERFUL WITH HIS GUN. THREE TANKS FLEW IN THE AIR WHEN HE FIRED, DID HE FORGET TO USE THAT IN LAST FIGHT SCENE. IN THE END U DON’T KNOW WHICH DECEPTS. GOT AWAY. SUCKED TO SEE MEGATRON FOR ONLY FIVE MINUTES. WAY TO GO JAGOFF. U BUILT THIS MOVIE UP SO MUCH I ALMOST KNEW IT WAS GOING TO SUCK. DAMMIT I WAS RIGHT.
Some of the members here love it, some hate it. I personally like it in spite of it’s flaws.
but the movie has been builing up for over 5 months. is this the best they could come up with. this ranks as low as waterworld, batman 4,the hulk. Never try to reinvent the wheel. add to it,but don’t take it apart and put it back together
eh, I’m ok with it. In my mind, this movie is no more of a departure than Beast Wars. Different subjects and history, same kick ass universe.
That’s so true what you said scott.. Why change something that need not fixing..?? As you said, add to it, instead of fucking it up.. Yeah, i feel your pain… they built the hype so much and milked it for what its worth based on a brand name.. That’s all it was.. Oh and rumour has it that Arcee is not cybetronian coupe anymore, she’s a bike.. But these rumours are sketchy at best.. Can it get any worse..??
shawn, beastwars never took place on earth. this movie was to be the begining of it all. nobody ever talks about beastwars, that lasted 1 year. g1 lasted a hell of lot longer than that. Even the cartoon movie stayed within the realm of the original. The target audience of this movie should be between 25 n 40. The cartoon came out 20 years ago. Bay n Speilberg should have kept the original decepts., the three planes and soundwave.

The equinox and (to a limited extent)the silverado have a “BOXY”
feel to it.
I am sure this is what W00kie meant that they would have made the compromise closer to G1 since these designs seem to contradict the reasons given that it doesnt work in real life.
