As broken at sectorseven.org, Hugo Weaving has been cast as the voice of Megatron. He must have made an impact with his voice work in V for Vendetta and Happy Feet.

I think this is pretty cool. I dug him in the Matrix flicks and was totally in to him in Lord of the Rings. Yes, it’s disappointing that Welker won’t be cast. Having said that, I’ve been watching some G1 and just don’t think that Welker would have been the best fit in a live action Transformers movie. I would have accepted it without question, but I’m quietly relieved.

Breaking this news from S7 is also a pretty cool touch, here’s the details -

From Sectorseven.org, if you log in using the password NBETWO and click the red scorpion icon there is a new email!

From: S7 Department of Network Security
To: Agent Alexander Powers
Subject: Counter-Information Campaign

OPERATION: Hungry Dragon 2 continues. As of today, Agent H. Weaving has officially convinced S.S., M.B., R.O., and A.K. to assign him to oversee the Megaman issue. The recording will commence immediately.

All the years of investment into Agent Weaving’s public persona have finally paid off. He will monitor the campaign from the inside and report on its progress free from suspicion.

By this summer, the population will think N.B.E.s are nothing more than a figment of someone’s overactive imagination.

Our power lies in our secrecy.

I think it’s safe to assume that the initials in the email are none other than Steven Spielberg, Michael Bay, Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman. Well done announcement marketing team.

Are you excited to see the constructicons in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen?

[...] Here’s a quick video I put together with audio from V for Vendetta and video from G1 season two. It’s quick and dirty but actually got me pretty excited about the casting.  Read more about it here. [...]

I've loved Transformers since I was a kid although I lost that love as I got older. When I heard about the live action movie it brought it all back. I love the animated shows, the toys and can't wait for the movie. Everything I've seen of the movie so far gets me tremendously excited.
