Jerry Bruckheimer, Ridley Scott, Peter Jackson, or James Cameron.. I think everyone has seen their movies and what they are capable of producing, so why have a voting poll with directors who aren’t exactly top of their class if you know what i mean..

I wouldn’t pick Michael Bay, because he isn’t that good a director to begin with.. However, his “explosive” skills (explosive being the operative word here) are unmatched.. Steven Speilberg is just as bad as Michael Bay, he isn’t that great a director either.. Everyone will remember E.T and Close encounters of the third kind, but thats it.. Uwe Boll..?? You can’t be serious… He can’t make movies to save himself.. House of the dead, bloodrayne, alone in the dark… where shockers.. Making movies based on computer games is just asking for trouble and box office flops.. I can’t imagine what he’ll do to Far Cry, you can only do so much with it.. Having a hero stranded on a tropical island surrounded by terrorists and a missing girlfriend is not exactly a new idea, is it..?? As for Josh Whedon, he just should stick to Buffy and Angel, and leave movie directing so someone more credible..

eh, those were the only directors I could think of real quick. Your list is much better. Uwe Boll was just a joke, his movies are terrible. I mean, alone in the dark could have been so cool and was just a piece of shit.

Uwe boll is a joke.. House of the dead for instance… who wouldn’t want a pistol that never runs out of bullets..?? That alone was is genious.. Yeah, i do agree with you that alone in the dark could have been so much better, same with bloodrayne.. Such promising movies, yet the promises weren’t kept.. I would also go as far as to say that silent hill could have been a much better movie then what it was (i know that Uwe Boll didn’t direct it… I think from memory it was Christpohe Gans who’s most notable movie was crying freeman)

But like i said though, movies based on games have never been that crash hot other then mortal kombat, mortal kombat annihilation, teenage mutant ninja turtles and turtles 2… I mean look at Judge dredd, super mario bros, street fighter, dead or alive, double dragon, they seemed promising enough on paper, but failed.. Dunno whether it was a lack of experiance by the director not knowing the game or characters or was it the fact that there just wasn’t enough substance or a good enough platform for a movie.. Games turning into movies isn’t a good enough genre to explore in my opinion, because the movies mentioned like double dragon are just so simplistic that a director just can’t stretch any further.. Then again, if a director really wanted to make a movie based on a game, then maybe playing the game, researching the game, and even talking to the makers of the game would help in the direction the director can go with the idea.. Unfortunately that isn’t happening and as a result these types of movies are left somewhat unfinished.. I think that that’s were Michael Bay went wrong and made the mistake… he wasn’t prepared, he didn’t know the transformers brand, didn’t know the various universes, and didn’t know the cartoon..

any of them would do quite nicely. Speilberg in his prime before he wnet off the deep end would have been way better than Micheal bay.

Dude, Uwe Bolls movies are terrible. They are movies that would be right up my alley as far as taste, but they are just atrocious.

I totally agree with you here shawn, i’d rather watch paint dry.. Having said that though, they were promising movies, with a decent story to it, but it wasn’t done right… it was like as if the director was unprepared for the task, the movie was made in such a way that it felt like the director was out of his comfort zone, in unfamiliar territory..

I've loved Transformers since I was a kid although I lost that love as I got older. When I heard about the live action movie it brought it all back. I love the animated shows, the toys and can't wait for the movie. Everything I've seen of the movie so far gets me tremendously excited.
