A publicist from Entertainment Weekly sent us a tip on an article that has Michael Bay discussing some upcoming projects, one of which is Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.  There isn’t a ton of new information but he says some good things about his plans for the script.

"I hate sequels that try to make it to the third movie. Pretend like we’re never having a third movie, so let’s go for broke on the second one. I hate those cliffhangers! Let’s just make this movie stand on its own."

Thanks Esther!

I hope that a LOT more effort in put into developing the storyline and concept with the sequal that what was applied to the first movie. I think that the script was GROSSLY underwritten. The history and source material that establishes who and what the Transformers were was thrown out to make the making of the film easier for Michael Bay (especially since he couldn’t grasps the idea of the Transformers being able to change both their physical appearance and their size).

My biggest complaint about the movie was, and still is, that neither the director nor the writers where fans of the series. Very little, IF ANY, research was done in the writing process for the storyline of the movie and the studio used the comic book world to re-establish the Transformers storyline to fit what they wanted it to be instead of fitting the storyline to what the series, comic book, was and giving it a modern day spin (a la Ironman).

Unlike the first movie, I WILL NOT be one of the first to see it when it comes out and I might just wait until it comes to the dollar movies or DVD before I do see it. Personally, I would like to thank Mr. Bay and the writers for DESTROYING one of the shows I enjoyed as a kid. Next time, stick with movies that have original scripts or are based on shows you liked and know very well.

I've loved Transformers since I was a kid although I lost that love as I got older. When I heard about the live action movie it brought it all back. I love the animated shows, the toys and can't wait for the movie. Everything I've seen of the movie so far gets me tremendously excited.
